THE GREAT THIEF OF OEDO
Apr. 7th, 2019 02:59 pmHey, it's that Goemon fella from Konami's super-cracky, dead-in-the-water series, Ganbare Goemon / Mystical Ninja. Back in the day, Goemon used to steal from nobles and give the money to the poor, but nowadays he and his ninja pals tend to save Japan from weird-ass threats like aliens on peach-shaped spaceships, giant robots, demons, and the like. Needless to say, the version of feudal Japan he lives in is filled with some insane anachronisms. His buddy, Ebisumaru (very, VERY loosely based on Nezumi Kozo, once upon a time,) for example, firmly believes he's a descendant of James Dean and nobody knows wtf he's talking about.

Note that while Goemon himself may look like a kid, he's a grown-ass man! He's your standard hotheaded hero with a strong sense of justice smooshed into a bitty package.
The way I play him will be leaning more into the games (where he's rougher in speech eg. 'screw that' and 'shut up') than the crappy anime (where he has a more caring attitude and is overall a little softer around the edges.) Given canon being bonkers and inconsistent, this account is mostly for careless fun and, as such, I won't commit to the same level of rigorous canon-reviewing here as I do for my other muses.
Fourthwalling is a-OK!
Crosscanon is adored!
The weirder, the better!
